To ensure high quality of teaching, NIT students evaluate all of their course lectures. We also conduct regular surveys of students, graduates, alumni, and cooperating companies. The teachers and lecturers receive the results of the surveys and reconsider course content or methodology when the surveys highlight a need for change.
Holding class meetings at the NIT with a fixed agenda is done at regular intervals. In addition, amidst a relaxed atmosphere, we hold smaller group meetings with space to discuss any topic. The NIT has student representatives of various forms such as elected class speakers, teaching assistants and tutors. They are important formal and informal connections to the student body and provide numerous ideas on ways to improve teaching, facilities, or quality management
The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) evaluates the accreditation of the NIT programs. The FIBAA is an internationally aligned European agency for quality assurance and quality development in academic education. Recognized experts assess the study programs and make recommendations on further course development.
Via the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) the NIT regularly takes part in the CHE university ranking – the most detailed and exhaustive ranking of German-language universities, universities of applied science, and vocational academies. It is a comprehensive and soundly based source of information about the different faculties, study programs and subjects for prospective students.
Through the embedded internal quality management system, the staff of the NIT use the quality mindset during their day to day activities. As a foundation, we use the PDCA circle with the four control phases- plan, do, check, act. This process allows us to evaluate our past actions and take appropriate steps to influence the next planning phase.
